Alex Mifsud

As Co-founder and CEO, Alex Mifsud is the visionary leader behind the embedded finance platform Weavr, whose mission is to be the easiest way for digital businesses to deliver embedded financial services at the point of need. Over the past five years, Alex has led Weavr from the ground up, raising a $40m Series-A round, acquiring digital-payments platform, Comma, and most recently securing an EMI licence from the Maltese Financial Services Authority. Starting his career in academia after being awarded a PhD in Computer Science, Alex has dedicated his time since to developing impactful technologies and business models that solve challenges faced by businesses and unlock new revenue streams. Prior to founding Weavr, Alex co-founded Entropay, launching Europe’s first consumer virtual prepaid card, and later Ixaris, a B2B payments technology company that pioneered the use of virtual cards in the Insurance and Travel value chains.
