Zoom unveils 1 million attendee capability for Zoom Webinars

Zoom has launched a new single-use webinar service, capable of accommodating up to 1 million participants. Expanding beyond its existing monthly and annual webinar subscriptions, Zoom now provides flexible options tailored to larger audiences.

Customers can select from various attendee capacities, including 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000, 500,000, and 1 million. Each package comes with comprehensive support from Zoom’s Event Services team, ensuring hosts deliver a polished and engaging event.

“Zoom’s expanded capacity webinar offering is revolutionising the way organisations can seamlessly connect and engage with massive audiences,” said Smita Hashim, chief product officer at Zoom. “Now event organisers have the flexibility and power to host truly interactive experiences on an unprecedented scale and the ability to purchase large single-use webinars.”

“With this new and expanded capacity for webinars, Zoom is opening new opportunities for innovative organisations,” said Wayne Kurtzman, IDC Research vice president of Social, Communities, and Collaboration. “The rise of Zoom in this market now enables organisations to produce significant, large-scale, and engaging virtual events.”

Elevating Large-Scale Virtual Engagement

Zoom Webinars now offer unparalleled performance and scalability, designed to meet the growing demands of virtual events. These webinars deliver a seamless experience for both hosts and attendees, combining advanced features with reliability.

  • Dependable Quality: Zoom Webinars are recognised for their superior audio and video quality, setting a new standard in the industry. Unlike other large streaming platforms that can experience delays of five seconds or more, Zoom’s platform ensures zero latency, providing a real-time experience for all participants.
  • Unmatched Scalability: Zoom is the only platform capable of hosting events with anywhere from 10,000 to 1 million attendees. Whether it’s a short meeting or a marathon session lasting up to 30 hours, Zoom Webinars can handle it all. Additionally, up to 1,000 interactive video panelists can participate, making it easy for hosts to deliver their messages using a straightforward, user-friendly interface.
  • Simplicity and Accessibility: Setting up a webinar with Zoom requires minimal effort – just a few clicks. The familiar Zoom interface ensures a smooth experience for attendees, while hosts can create polished, branded webinars complete with customised virtual backgrounds, name tags, and wallpaper.
  • Flexible Pricing: Zoom offers a range of pricing options to suit different needs, including pay-per-event, pay-per-month, and pay-per-attendee models, along with monthly and annual subscriptions. For those with more complex requirements, Zoom Sessions or Zoom Events offer additional capabilities.
  • Insightful Analytics: Hosts have access to detailed reports on registration, attendance, and audience engagement, allowing them to refine their webinar strategies. These insights are invaluable for improving future events.

Zoom Webinars, along with Zoom Sessions and Zoom Events, are available for purchase online and through direct sales channels. Initially, the single-use webinar packages will be available exclusively in the US.

Revolutionising Large-Scale Communication Across Industries

Zoom’s new single-use webinar service redefines how large-scale virtual interactions are conducted, facilitating seamless communication across various sectors.

  • Enterprise: Large enterprises now have the capacity to bring together up to 1 million employees in a single, unified event. This capability is ideal for global all-hands meetings, allowing senior leaders to communicate directly with the entire workforce. Moreover, industry conferences and trade shows can now extend their reach, enabling more participants to engage with keynote speakers and industry leaders.
  • Entertainment: In the entertainment sector, connecting with fans and audiences is crucial. Zoom’s enhanced webinar capabilities enable celebrities and public figures to host virtual events, fan meet-and-greets, and more. The platform’s interactive features allow for direct engagement, creating memorable experiences. Brands can also use these large-scale webinars to launch products, hold fundraisers, or host virtual events that connect with audiences on a personal level.
  • Public Sector: Government agencies and nonprofits often need to reach large, diverse populations. Zoom’s single-use webinar packages provide an effective solution for public addresses, town halls, and community outreach. Whether it’s a national leader addressing citizens during a crisis or a global nonprofit launching a major campaign, the ability to host up to 1 million attendees ensures that these important messages are delivered to a wide audience.
