Workspace of the issue: AllBright
Paige West caught up with the team at AllBright to find out how this private member's club for women, in Mayfair, is driving change for smart-minded women.
The AllBright club in London was opened in 2018. It was born out of the need to provide a luxury private club destination where the team could facilitate the needs of women while they grew their careers.
Located in a beautiful five storey Mayfair townhouse, members come together to network, sip wine, dine, and attend a rounded calendar of programming events – from the art of perfumery through to attending intimate dinners with powerhouse global CEOs.
The vision
AllBright exists to support and elevate women into positions of seniority and influence within their respective careers. This is represented through a firm grounding in ‘sisterhood works’; a belief in great things happening when women come together to support each other, so it made sense for the Co-Founders, Debbie and Anna, to create AllBright – a space created by women, for women!
With women still only making up a minority percentage of all seats on executive teams and company boards, AllBright’s overarching goal is to provide the opportunity for career focused women to reach and then exceed their potential.
The facilities
As well as access to the club and a programme of events, there is a digital app available to all club members with over 200 courses and learning opportunities, with curated content and the chance to connect with other women around the world. Through this platform, members have the opportunity to sign up to become mentors or mentees. This sits alongside the learning and development courses, Accelerator and Elevator, some of which run in person within the Mayfair club.
The AllBright team is constantly looking for new and interesting ways to provide additional benefits to its members. This includes a relationship with Sonato, a platform for members of private clubs around the world that extends reciprocal access to their spaces; fantastic for AllBright members when they travel!
AllBright also works with luxury hotels and products to provide preferred rates and exclusive discounts, and often run member-only excursions to various destinations in the UK and further afield. Past destinations have included visits to vineyards and guided private viewings of art collections.
Created by women, for women
The AllBright team have noticed that their members all talk about wanting to be inspired by other women – those who have achieved great things, walked a similar path, or have broken the mould in some area of their lives. This is not always career focused, it could be that they have scaled Mount Everest, or run seven marathons in seven days, or maybe they have started and grown a business whilst maintaining all the responsibilities of family life. But ultimately, the opportunity for women at all ages and stages to come together and learn from each other, to be inspired, pushed ahead, and lifted-up by one another in a non-threatening environment and to provide a destination space where every member is in it for the same reason, is why it is so key for a community like AllBright’s to exist.
Whilst the club has a membership that spans all stages of career journeys, many members have joined AllBright having enjoyed huge success within their careers and are looking for connections amongst others who may also be sitting on boards of global enterprises – a space where women are still sorely under-represented.
AllBright brings these women together through opportunities to impart their own experience, to learn, meet and connect in a safe and luxurious environment.
The future
For the team, the best part of running AllBright is witnessing the light-bulb moments, seeing new relationships and connections form, and hearing first-hand from members how AllBright has been pivotal in building both their networks and careers.
But what’s next for the private members club? Well, the team is innovative and dynamic and always thinking about what will benefit their members next, either online, through the learning academy and partnerships, or in the club itself.
With this in mind, AllBright is on a clear and defined mission to bring more opportunities to more women; and this means growth.
