Virgin Bet launches personal safety partnership with WalkSafe
Virgin Bet is proud to announce its inaugural Personal Safety Partnership with WalkSafe, the UK’s top personal safety app.
This collaboration aims to emphasise the importance of safety and security at racing events nationwide, offering users peace of mind when travelling alone from venues.
This initiative is part of Virgin Bet’s new brand ethos, ‘A Good Bet’, which is dedicated to breaking down barriers and fostering positive change in sports and culture.
WalkSafe, established in 2020, was created to provide the public with vital information about their surroundings. The app, WalkSafe+, helps both women and men plan the safest routes home and offers a range of features to enhance personal safety.
The partnership officially kicks off this week at the Virgin Bet Ayr Gold Cup Festival from 19th to 21st September, where the WalkSafe team will present their products alongside Virgin Bet. Attendees can explore the free app and engage with its founder, Emma Kay, who is committed to raising awareness about safety in everyday life.
The partnership will continue to be featured at all Virgin Bet-sponsored races throughout the 2024-25 racing calendar.
Sam Sadi, CEO of LiveScore Group said: “At Virgin Bet, as part of our ‘A Good Bet’ brand propositioning, we want to make sporting events a safe environment for women and men from start to finish, including travelling to and from a venue from home. By working with the excellent people at WalkSafe, this initiative is doing exactly that and is a first for the racing industry.”
Emma Kay, Founder of WalkSafe continued: “We are so pleased to be working with Virgin Bet to highlight personal safety at sporting events. Partnerships like this shine a spotlight on the safety concerns people may have, and the app provides the technology, as well as the confidence and support they may need to get home safely.”
