Vertical Future announces tailored product and data services for various sectors
Vertical Future, a UK-based Controlled-Environment-Agriculture technology company, has announced a range of Crop-Science-as-a-Service (“CSaaS”) services for different sector archetypes, including food, fodder, forestry, and pharmaceutical-based products.
The new offering will provide clients with a platform to conduct real-world trials using Vertical Future’s technology, enabling them to trial or validate their growing recipes, be guided by VF, or develop synergistic products or services in a controlled, high-tech, data-enriched farming environment, while ensuring tangible results.
CSaaS, powered by Vertical Future, harnesses in-house integrated and cutting-edge technologies and in-depth growing expertise to support the wider industry, particularly new CEA companies, giving them a head start and saving costs that are otherwise realised in the first few years following establishment. The new offering provides tailored data and product services that optimise crop growth, drive innovation, and enable real-life tests for new products. Crop-Science-as-a-Service delivers tailored rental arrangements of Vertical Future’s growing systems, engineers, and scientists, priced on the basis of growing space and time, and used to provide precision production data for new start-ups, seasoned operators, researchers, suppliers, and more actors across the CEA industry.
VF’s new product offering will enable greater interaction with Vertical Future’s scientific and engineering teams spanning from tailored growing, trials, and synergy services:
- Tailored Growing Services: more tailored services based on pre-defined crop parameters providing results under specific test conditions. The service can also be expanded for the VF team to look at optimising the crop parameters and is most useful for new market entrants, growers looking for comparative data or to move into the space, and/or research organisations
- Synergy Service: this is for companies with new synergistic products under development that either lack an advanced growing system and environment to test their new products or want to demonstrate their performance on an additional facility. Space can be provided and results anonymised
The expected benefits to users include the ability to create verified data and analysis using our cutting-edge technologies, supported by our leading PhD-level plant science team. CSaaS also acts as an accelerator for the latest innovations, leveraging cost efficiencies, outsourcing, and rapid trials by using rented high-tech space, before making a heavy capital investment.
Commenting on the new services, Founder and CEO of Vertical Future, Jamie Burrows, said: “We are delighted to announce our new Crop-Science-as-a-Service platform. At Vertical Future, we aim to offer solutions that will help tackle the effects of climate change and create a sustainable crop system, ensuring a healthy future for all. We believe in the potential of technology backed by quality science and research within the agricultural (and adjacent) sectors to meaningfully deliver on our shared goals. These new services allow our technologies, systems, data, and prior growing experiences to be enablers for others with similar beliefs and ambitions.”
