TapTrip announces new partnership with Trainline Partner Solutions

Innovative business travel company TapTrip has teamed up with Trainline Partner Solutions (TPS), Trainline’s B2B arm and a leading distributor of global rail content, to further elevate and streamline its service to business users as rail becomes the primary source of travel for more and more domestic business customers post-Covid.

Even before the pandemic, rail has become increasingly more prominent in the business travel sector, due in part to increased scrutiny over the carbon footprint of air travel. Wherever possible, more and more businesses are turning to rail over air for employee travel due to wider sustainability concerns.  According to a recent survey undertaken by GlobalData, 48% of respondents said that reducing their environmental footprint is now more important than prior to this pandemic and 37% declared that this is as important as before.

And now, as many businesses transition to a semi-flexible working model, with employees working primarily from home and travelling to one central location for a regular team meeting it is anticipated rail travel will become even more important.

Within the current TapTrip platform, users can already save train tickets directly to their itinerary, so the mobile ticket is accessible alongside any other travel documents. Thanks to the partnership with TPS, TapTrip users will now have access to greater rail coverage than ever before plus other added perks and flexibility to make booking and managing travel and expenses even easier.

With the addition of Trainline technology, users will be able to process rail ticket refunds within the TapTrip platform itself. For businesses, it means managing refunds for employee travel is both quicker, and more efficient as everything is in one place.

Coordinating travel so everyone arrives in the same place at the same time can be challenging. TapTrip uses the latest technology and cutting edge UX to make the process more streamlined and efficient, consolidating multiple legs of a journey into one succinct itinerary within the platform for ease.

The move to further TapTrip’s rail inventory comes after a year of substantial growth for the business. In the last 12 months, the company has secured significant new funding to aid expansion, branching out into several new vertical sectors and nearly doubling its workforce.

Most recently, they expanded into the marine and energy industry with new product Vessul, which has since become TapTrip’s fastest selling product ever, revolutionising the way crew rotation travel is managed in the sector.
