SweGaN selected for second year on list of Sweden’s hottest tech startups
Manufacturer of custom-made GaN-on-SiC epitaxial wafers for components and devices for telecom, satellite, defence and power electronics, SweGaN has announced that the company has been named for the 2nd year in a row to the Ny Teknik (New Technology) “33 List” of Sweden’s most promising and innovative young companies. This year’s contenders included 270 companies.
With headquarters based in the heart of Linköping Sweden’s renowned technology hub, SweGaN manufactures unique GaN-on-SiC wafers called QuanFINE using a novel patented growth technology.
The QuanFINE wafers are sold to manufacturers of components and devices for satellite communication, telecom, and defence applications, as well as manufacturers of power electronics used in electric vehicles, solar inverters and more.
Earlier this year, the Swedish tech startup reported exceptional results for 2019 with 300% year-on-year growth from 2018, with a doubling of commercial orders and collaboration in multiple prestigious EU projects. And now, SweGaN is awarded a place on the very prestigious '33-list' for the second year running.
“We are extremely excited to be named to NY Teknik’s 33 List again this year,” said Olof Kordina, CEO of SweGaN.
“Our customer base includes nearly all major players in the world. SweGaN’s epiwafers are used by foundries, otherwise called semiconductor fabrication plants, where Power bars and MMIC’s - monolithic microwave integrated circuits - are produced from the QuanFINE wafers.”
"SweGaN is providing ground-breaking products where we can provide a price-performance ratio, exceptional quality, robustness and reliability that enable our customers to excel in manufacturing of components and devices in highly competitive markets, and more and more customers are now seeing the performance benefits on their products when using QuanFINE wafers.”
