Startups Magazine’s top startups from CES: Day Two
Every January, Las Vegas becomes THE place to be for all things tech, with some of the biggest players in the tech space, as well as a whole host of innovative startups, taking on the big city. On day two of CES, Startups Magazine interviewed a whole lot more startups. Here are just a few that we think you should know about!
Skwheel
Skwheel is a startup based in France, that is making waves with its product, the Luna-One electric skis. Showcased at CES 2024, these electric skis have been designed to bring a new twist to urban mobility.
The Luna-One skis are equipped with features that make them versatile for various surfaces, including streets, sand, and gravel. They can reach a top speed of 80 km/h in less rural settings but are limited to 25 km/h in urban environments for safety. The skis include a joystick for control and multiple braking systems, which add to their usability and safety.
Y-Brush
Y-Brush is a startup that has created a unique dental product: a toothbrush that cleans teeth in just 10 seconds. Its product has been developed with the help of dentists and is designed to brush all teeth simultaneously.
The concept for Y-Brush originated in 2015 when Co-Founder, Benjamin Cohen, noticed his younger cousins brushing their teeth for only a few seconds. This observation led him to develop a product that simplifies and enhances the efficiency of tooth brushing. The initial focus was on providing a solution for caregivers in medical and social establishments to assist in brushing the teeth of elderly and disabled patients. Later, the technology was adapted for individual use, launching the Y-Brush for the consumer market.
Xoto
Xoto is an exciting Californian startup that's entered the electric vehicle (EV) market with a unique product: a three-wheeled electric scooter. This innovative vehicle is designed for urban riders and delivery services. The scooter features a distinct leaning system for cornering, which allows it to lean up to 45 degrees into turns. This feature enhances maneuverability and stability, potentially enabling riders to navigate city streets without needing a motorcycle license.
Enchanted tools
Enchanted Tools is a French startup revolutionising the field of robotics by developing humanoid robots with a unique, animation-inspired design. These robots, named Mirokaï, are designed to operate in social environments and perform various logistical tasks. The Mirokaï robots stand out for their ability to move autonomously on an orbital sphere, grip objects with a universal handle, and interact with humans through voice commands. Their design avoids the "uncanny valley" effect of some other robots by combining human and animal features, making them more approachable and less intimidating.
SquareMind
SquareMind is a startup focused on transforming non-invasive healthcare through advanced technology. Their primary mission is to assist physicians in saving lives while freeing up crucial medical time. The company concentrates on dermatology, aiming to revolutionise skin cancer detection.
The startup envisions a future where autonomous robots play a significant role in healthcare systems. One of its key projects is 'Swan,' a digital experience tool designed to aid physicians in skin screening and enhance productivity. SquareMind's approach involves capturing vital data that both physicians and algorithms require for effective skin screening.
Field AI
Field AI is a startup specialising in robotic autonomy for various industrial applications. Its focus is on transforming industries through the deployment of advanced autonomous robotics. Field AI's approach involves utilising existing machinery and equipping it with autonomous capabilities, ready for deployment in various fields.
The company offers a range of robots that have been field-tested and proven capable on different vehicle types. These robots provide users with a variety of options in terms of cost, size, and performance.
