Slashing Co2 Emissions and Curbing E-Waste - Klyk Unveils Sustainability Goals
Sustainable IT solutions partner, and certified B Corporation Klyk announces their ambitious sustainability targets and the launch of their IT repair café on June 24th. Over the next five years Klyk aims to cut CO2 emissions by 1,200 tonnes and reduce electronic waste (e-waste) by 145 tonnes.
Working predominantly with start-ups and scales-ups, Klyk supports its customers in minimising their carbon footprint and e-waste by providing them with quality, refurbished technology (at a fraction of the cost of new), repairing faulty devices and recycling legacy tech.
“This year’s World Environment Day theme “Only One Earth” calls for transformative changes to enable greener and more sustainable practices.
We believe that businesses have a responsibility to lead this change by operating more sustainably to reduce their environmental impact.
Our target is ambitious but with the support of more forward-thinking, sustainable businesses we can achieve this commitment and move toward the UK’s 2050 net-zero target.” – Arif Hussein, Klyk, CEO & Founder.
Klyk will launch its quarterly IT repair cafés at their Kentish Town office on June 24th. Held once every quarter (the next event is scheduled for September 30th), businesses and households will have the opportunity to bring broken electronics like laptops, Macbooks and iPhones for repair or sale.
“We understand that consumers want to do the right thing when it comes to disposing of their tech, but many are unaware of what to do with it at end of life. We hope through our repair café to give the community a hassle-free way to divert e-waste away from landfill and raise awareness on the importance of turning from a throw-away to a circular society.”– Arif Hussein, Klyk, CEO & Founder
