Singtel and Nscale unlock GPU capacity globally to accelerate AI adoption

Singtel and Nscale, an end-to-end AI Cloud platform, have unveiled a strategic partnership aimed at expanding GPU capacity across Europe and Southeast Asia. This collaboration seeks to address the surging global demand from enterprises for generative AI, high-performance computing, and data-intensive workloads.

Singtel will harness Nscale’s AMD and NVIDIA GPU resources in Europe to manage its customers’ workloads across key regional markets, ensuring the ability to meet high-volume demands while maintaining top-tier service quality, particularly when additional capacity is required. In turn, Nscale will gain access to Singtel’s NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPU capacity in Southeast Asia through integration with Singtel’s patented orchestration platform, Paragon. As Singtel’s regional data centre subsidiary, Nxera, continues to expand, its sustainable, AI-ready facilities will provide the necessary infrastructure to support the large-scale deployment of Nscale’s GPU resources.

This partnership enables Singtel and Nscale to develop a more expansive GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) offering on a global scale, giving their customers access to a broader geographic range and robust infrastructure, while also enhancing the utilisation of their respective GPU clusters.

Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo and Nxera, said: “As we continue to augment our GPUaaS offerings, we are forging a series of strategic partnerships to grow our ecosystem and broaden our service availability for our customers. Our partnership with Nscale will allow our customers to tap into their high-performance GPU resources on demand, unlocking new possibilities for innovation and efficiency. Our commitment to delivering cost-effective solutions, backed by our state-of-the-art data centres, ensures businesses can access high-performance GPU resources quickly and seamlessly.”

Josh Payne, Nscale Founder and CEO said: “Nscale is the vertically integrated GPU cloud building the global infrastructure backbone for generative AI. Our sustainable AI-ready data centre together with our GW pipeline of data centre capacity uniquely positions us to deliver sustainable AI infrastructure at any scale for customers worldwide. Through this strategic partnership, Nscale will provide Singtel customers with unmatched access to sustainable, high-performance, and cost-effective AI compute to accelerate enterprise generative AI in the region and beyond.”

In February, Singtel revealed plans to launch its GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) later this year, offering enterprises access to NVIDIA’s advanced AI computing capabilities. This service is designed to enable businesses to deploy AI solutions at scale rapidly and cost-effectively, fostering accelerated growth and innovation. Additionally, Singtel announced collaborations with Vultr in the US and a strategic partnership with Bridge Alliance, aimed at extending its GPUaaS offerings to enterprises throughout Southeast Asia.

Singtel’s GPUaaS will further expand into new sustainable, hyper-connected, AI-ready data centres, developed by its subsidiary Nxera, across Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. These facilities are set to begin operations from mid-2025, supporting the growing demand for AI infrastructure in the region.

Nscale’s strategic partnership with Singtel builds on its recent ventures, including a collaboration with Open Innovation AI to deliver 30,000 GPUs to the Middle Eastern market. This partnership combines Nscale’s robust GPU infrastructure with Open Innovation AI’s orchestration and data science tools. In another significant move, Nscale recently acquired Kontena, a provider of high-density modular data centres and AI solutions, strengthening its capacity to deliver high-performance, cost-effective AI infrastructure to meet the expanding needs of the generative AI market.
