Neptech presents new passenger and cargo ships at CES 2022
Neptech has presented at CES 2022 its zero-emission, high-performance and intelligent hydrogen-powered passenger and cargo ships.
NepTech's ambition is to revolutionise the maritime world by offering a zero-emission solution through the use of hydrogen. NepTech's innovations are based on two axes: reducing hydrodynamic resistance and increasing energy efficiency. These innovations make it possible to reduce energy consumption by 35% to 50%.
The technologies developed by NepTech make it possible to significantly reduce the energy consumption of vessels while matching the operational performance of traditional diesel-powered vessels. Its electrically powered catamarans are intended for private or public passenger transport operators, tourism professionals or freight companies.
At CES 2022, Neptech will present the NepShuttle, a smart shuttle that transports people in an environmentally friendly way, as efficient as traditional combustion engine vessels. The NepShuttle is a 12 to 24 metre electrohydrogen powered catamaran that can carry up to 150 passengers.
NepTech has developed an innovative product approach based on a common platform for several uses. The modular platform developed by NepTech makes it possible to adapt the vessel to the needs specified by the client and to accommodate up to 150 passengers / 20 tons of cargo.
Based on this "standardised" platform, NepTech offers four finishes: the NepShuttle (scheduled passenger transport - maritime), the NepCargo (cargo transport), the NepFerry (passenger transport / port) and the NepRiver (passenger transport - inland waters)
In order to guarantee unparalleled performance in terms of speed, environmental neutrality and safety, the design of NepTech vessels is based on four technological building blocks
- Electric propulsion powered by hydrogen fuel cells or batteries depending on the desired operational profile.
- Advanced hydrodynamics to reduce the ship's drag and therefore energy consumption: optimised catamaran hull, integration of appendages to slightly lift the ship and air injection system.
- Steering aids: automatic mooring, autopilot and detection of ships and unidentified floating objects (UFOs).
- Ecodesign: use of recyclable construction materials (thermoplastic resin, PET sandwich foam from recycled plastic bottles, biosourced natural fibres) and systematic life cycle analysis for the vessel and all its equipment.
NepTech is a startup whose ambition is to design the ship of the future adapted to today's mobility challenges. A true maritime innovation lab, NepTech develops innovations that guarantee its new-generation ships unrivalled performance in terms of speed, autonomy and
