Mindstone and Rational Partners launch Mindstone

Mindstone and Rational Partners have announced the launch of Mindstone Tech. This joint venture is designed to help software engineers adapt to and excel in an AI-first future. This new initiative offers intensive, hands-on training delivered by experienced AI-first CTOs, providing software engineers with the practical knowledge they need to leverage AI tools effectively and stay ahead in their careers.

With a thriving community of over 20,000 people and having already upskilled more than 5,000 professionals across organisations including San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trailblazers, Hyatt and Pearson, Mindstone is now targeting to train 10,000 engineers within the first year of this new initiative.

As AI continues to transform the software engineering field, the distinction between coding and software engineering is becoming increasingly pronounced. While coding tasks are increasingly automated, the analytical and problem-solving mindset of an engineer remains essential. Mindstone Tech addresses this shift by helping engineers develop the skills needed to manage and leverage AI tools effectively, rather than focusing solely on traditional coding techniques.

"Software engineering is undergoing a fundamental transformation. We're entering a phase where the management and operation of AI tools is becoming more important than the specific lines of code that engineers personally type," said Rob Elkin, co-founder of Rational Partners. "Engineers need a new paradigm to thrive in this environment, and Mindstone Tech is designed to help them develop that mindset."

Mindstone Tech offers two distinct training options:

  1. Two-day boot camp: an intensive, hands-on experience led by experienced CTOs, showing the potential of AI-enhanced engineering techniques with practical examples. The boot camp works with companies' existing technology platforms and processes to build knowledge and excitement for integrating AI tooling into their businesses
  2. Four-week programme: a comprehensive programme that combines Mindstone's proven learning approach and platform with live sessions curated specifically for software teams led by CTOs

Unlike traditional online learning platforms that often fail to produce measurable results, Mindstone Tech's hybrid delivery model builds on Mindstone’s success training non-technical people in some of the world’s biggest organisations, combining live sessions with a personalised learning platform for maximum impact.

"The energy and buzz was palpable, it was that same 'I won't be able to sleep and want to keep on hacking' energy, but now spread across my whole business. If you're seeing resistance or scepticism in your team, I can't recommend this enough, it's honestly a no-brainer of an investment. The engineering team went from visible scepticism to clear buy-in. It was just magic," said Tom Kotecki, Founder and CEO of Oculo, following their experience with the Mindstone Tech boot camp.

Mindstone Tech is designed for companies looking to upskill their engineering teams, with a focus on providing the skills necessary to adapt to the changing landscape of software engineering. The programme helps engineers understand how to evaluate and integrate AI tools into their workflows, ultimately increasing productivity and staying competitive in an AI-driven world.

"This is the first step on a shift in mindset for engineers," said Joshua Wöhle, CEO of Mindstone. "AI provides genuine superpowers to software engineers once they understand how to leverage it, and our goal is to give them the practical experience, excitement and curiosity to get there."

With unprecedented NPS scores of up to 96 in recent cohorts, Mindstone's training programmes have proven highly effective in driving AI adoption and enhancing productivity across organisations of all sizes.
