Dutch digital artist Jeroen van der Most has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the second day of ISE 2024, set to take place from the 30th of January to the 2nd of February, 2024.
Van der Most, renowned for his innovative approach to art, has been a pioneer in blending data, algorithms, and artificial intelligence into his creative process since 2010. His art has been commissioned by organisations such as Amnesty International, NVIDIA, NH hotels, Sogeti, and Nike - Footlocker.
Van der Most's work delves into the vast potential of new technologies, challenging and reshaping our understanding of technology itself. His art has been showcased in diverse locations, including ZKM Karlsruhe, CES Las Vegas, Dutch Design Week, Museum De Lakenhal, Centre des Arts Enghien les Bains, Amsterdam KunstRai, and AAF Hong Kong.
At ISE 2024, van der Most is scheduled to present his keynote on the 31st of January at 17:15 in the ISE Show Floor Theatre in Hall 4. This keynote is expected to be a highlight of the 20th-anniversary edition of ISE, offering insights into the evolving relationship between art and technology. Van der Most's presentations are known for their dynamic integration of advanced art technologies, ranging from AI to quantum computing and NFTs, into captivating visual narratives. He challenges traditional boundaries and encourages new perspectives on creativity in our interconnected world.
Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events, expressed his enthusiasm: "We are delighted to welcome Jeroen van der Most as a Keynote Speaker. His appearance at ISE 2024 will be a first-time combination of having a gifted creative artist discussing his work and, at the same time, creating interactive art at the show. Jeroen epitomises ISE’s vision to bring together innovative people with exciting technology and ensures that ISE 2024 is Your Destination for Innovation.”
In a mesmerising performance at ISE 2024, van der Most will captivate audiences with a live broadcast on the South Access Screen, a 193m2 invisible LED display at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Via venue. His exhibition, 'Bee Barcelona', will feature an AI-based replica of his creative mind, offering an immersive exploration of his thoughts. A unique aspect of this performance involves merging his AI mind with that of a bee, reinventing Barcelona as a symbolic hive. Van der Most commented on this aspect: "The key motivation for me to work on the bee mind mix is again to step away from 'ordinary' supercharged AI for mere productivity and profit, but to design an AI that’s about being closer to nature, more modesty, and more surprising in finding design ideas."
