Immersive Zoom Experience Centre opens in the heart of London

Zoom inaugurated its new Experience Centre in the heart of London. The Zoom Experience Centre has brought the Zoom brand to life. The experience-based space was designed to inspire and immerse customers and partners in Zoom’s products, solutions, and values.

This space followed the company’s opening of its new office in Holborn, the Zoom Engagement Hub, in August 2023. This provided its employees with access to a new engaging office design that delivered the blueprint for a modern workplace in a hybrid era.

“The UK continues to be Zoom’s door to EMEA, and is one of our largest key markets outside the US”, commented Frederik Maris, Head of Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Zoom. “Our latest investment in the region underlines Zoom’s long-term commitment to the UK, where we have already seen the number of full-time employees nearly double in the last three years. The new Zoom Experience Centre is a testament to our cutting-edge technology, and the creativity that Zoom can enable, and raises the bar for our international footprint outside of the United States.”

Zoom’s UK journey

Zoom’s commitment to the UK stands out as an example of its dedication to fostering AI-powered communication and collaboration around the globe. Zoom’s journey in the UK began in 2013, with the opening of the first office in 2018.

“From facilitating hybrid work to enabling virtual classrooms and connecting loved ones across the country, Zoom has seamlessly integrated into the fabric of everyday life in the UK. Over the years, Zoom’s robust platform has adapted to the unique needs of the UK market, continuously innovating to provide secure, reliable, and user-friendly solutions,” added Dave Grant, Head of Customer Experience Organisation EMEA at Zoom. “All of this has been achieved thanks to our incredible customers and partners whom we are proud to serve – from our early days in the UK to today, where we find ourselves in these incredible facilities.”

Zoom customers in the UK range from individual users to large enterprises, including the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team, financial institutions such as HSBC, organisations such as the WWF, and health and public sector customers such as Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

The Zoom Experience Centre

The Zoom Experience Centre, which spans over 18,000 square feet, is adjacent to the Engagement Hub. The facility’s central feature is the Lens Wall, a 125-foot-long ambient fabric wall that focuses on offering visitors an immersive experience. The next-generation discovery showcase supports the world's first curved LED screen with multi-touch interactivity, providing a dynamic and engaging 360-degree visual experience that can be customised for each guest during demonstrations and workshops. One of the highlights is the Boardroom of the Future, equipped with a floor-to-ceiling seamless curved 8K LED screen and state-of-the-art audio systems, this boardroom exemplifies modern meeting technology powered by Zoom.

Zoom’s design strategy for the Experience Centre demonstrates how the company addresses sustainability holistically, helping reduce its carbon footprint through the Experience Centre’s Gold LEED certification, a globally recognised symbol of sustainability achievement.

In line with our core value of care, including caring for the planet and our communities, Zoom partnered with the Art for Impact (AFI) initiative, which matches organizations with artists to benefit their local community non-profit groups. In collaboration with Nicaraguan women's collective Las Tejedoras, NGO Casa Congo, and global design firm Unispace, Zoom’s Experience Centre contains a custom-designed tapestry made from 3,500 plastic bags, with a message of inspiring individual and corporate action in the areas of environmental conservation and social impact.
