Humanoid accelerates next-gen robotics with NVIDIA
Humanoid, a London-based robotics company, has announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate robotic capabilities by integrating NVIDIA accelerated computing, advanced simulation tools, and next-generation Edge processing technologies for developing its humanoid robot.
Humanoid is leveraging NVIDIA technology to address key challenges in robotics development:
- Sim-first development: using NVIDIA Isaac Sim and NVIDIA Omniverse platforms, Humanoid rapidly iterates their robot in simulation environments, aiming to reduce prototyping cycles to six weeks. By validating a multitude of permutations virtually, Humanoid can refine designs efficiently before physical manufacturing
- Massive-scale simulations: Humanoid employs reinforcement learning (RL) training and data generation to train robot policies, resulting in robust body controllers and advanced manipulation policies, preparing robots for complex real-world tasks
- Advanced AI training: Humanoid trains sophisticated Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, enhancing robot agility, improving intuitive human-robot interactions, and expanding autonomous capabilities, empowering robots to perform reliably in diverse scenarios
- High-performance Edge compute: built on the upcoming NVIDIA Thor, Humanoid’s robots benefit from advanced onboard computing, supporting real-time perception, complex decision-making, and dynamic interactions essential for effective operation in various environments
“At Humanoid, we are on a mission to build the most commercially scalable, reliable, and safe humanoid robots. Our world-class team of over 130 engineers and innovators is moving rapidly toward the launch of our alpha prototype later this year, and our collaboration with NVIDIA is playing a key role in helping us get there. Their cutting-edge tools and platforms enable us to accelerate development and bring intelligent robots closer to real-world deployment,” said Artem Sokolov, Founder of Humanoid.
Humanoid targets industries including manufacturing, logistics, and retail, where robotics solutions can significantly enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity. By harnessing NVIDIA’s advanced technologies, Humanoid aims to accelerate the deployment of capable and reliable humanoid robots tailored to meet industry-specific needs.
