HP’s AI PCs aim to reduce admin burden so workers can do more of what they love

HP commissioned a survey via YouGov, polling around 1,200 UK workers to understand what keeps them busy at work, and how often they’re able to take lunch breaks. It found that 2 in 5 (40%) surveyed never take an hour-long lunch break, and almost 1 in 3 (30%) would skip lunch to catch up on admin tasks such as compiling meeting notes and filling in time sheets.

Surprisingly, 1 in 6 (16%) spend 40% or more of their workday on admin tasks alone, leaving them little time for their primary responsibilities. Respondents also cited missing life events and personal priorities due to work, with over 1 in 5 missing an event at school for their child, missing medical appointments (22%) and skipping exercise (29%).

Almost 1 in 4 (23%) UK workers feel pressure not to take a full break at lunch despite it making them feel refreshed (28%) happy (16%) and productive (14%). HP’s Work Relationship Index, a global workplace study, found that 2 in 5 (42%) of workers surveyed and 51% of business leaders recognise how AI can alleviate tedious tasks, allowing them to focus on what truly matters in their roles.

“AI is set to be a significant driver of change in the future of work, increasing productivity and allowing workers to enjoy their jobs more by taking simple and repetitive tasks off their plates,” said Neil Sawyer, Managing Director of HP Northwest Europe. “In the UK, 65% of workers believe AI will make their jobs easier, and at HP we want to make this a reality by empowering workers with the latest in AI technology to achieve their aspirations.”

Do the work you love, let AI PC do the rest

To help workers get time back in their days for the work they love, or to even take a full lunch break, HP is offering workers a complimentary lunch at Hawksmoor Wood Wharf if they pay by submitting a simple task for HP’s AI PC to tackle for them. After guests finish their meals, they’ll be presented with their bill – a simple workflow sheet demonstrating how the task they submitted, such as writing a report or analysing a document, can be completed using AI.

HP’s AI Companion which is featured on the recently released HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14 AI PC, powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor, allows users to ask questions, analyse documents and gather insights in order to reduce admin workload.
