
Flip secures $28M Series A extension to expand AI-powered capabilities for deskless workers
Europe’s software scale-up for the frontline, Flip, has announced a $28 million Series A extension. Led by existing investors including LEA Partners, HV Capital, Notion Capital, as well as Roland Berger. The funding will be used to drive targeted advancements in artificial intelligence and accelerate the company’s growth.
Unveiled at the company’s flagship Berlin event, Flip Forward, the new investment will support the next phase development of Flip Intelligence: an AI-powered solution that automates shift planning, knowledge management, feedback collection, and onboarding processes. By combining knowledge transfer with AI-driven automation, it boosts productivity, reduces process risks, and enhances employee engagement, while continuing to deliver significant time and cost savings. Unlike other solutions, Flip’s AI features are fully embedded into the platform, with no need for third-party tools.
Founded inside Porsche by then-trainee Benedikt Brand, Flip was born out of frustration with the disconnect between HQ and teams on the factory floor. Its platform is purpose built for companies with a high proportion of deskless workers, who make up 80% of the global workforce, and digitises all touchpoints between these employees and their organisations. Designed to help HR, communications, operations teams and deskless workers streamline their daily workflows enabling them to work smarter, save time and focus on value-adding tasks.

In addition to expanding its AI capabilities, Flip is also focusing on global expansion. With international clients such as Sixt Norway, Ben & Jerry’s Australia, the Australian Football League (AFL) and the School of Rock, Flip is already proving its platform delivers real value on a worldwide scale. To support this expansion, Flip has appointed Simon Eck as SVP Global Sales. Eck previously led sales for the EMEA region at Staffbase and brings extensive experience in international B2B SaaS sales.
In recent years, Flip has also secured strong digitalisation partners to help close technological gaps within companies. A strategic partnership with the Boston Consulting Group led to the publication of a study in 2024 focused on how to face deskless labour shortage with technology.
Since its founding in 2018, Flip has raised over $60 million in total funding and is now being used by more than 500 companies – including leading brands like McDonald’s, Rossmann, Bosch, and Porsche. Developed in close collaboration with its customers, Flip’s platform is backed by a 160-strong team focused on driving innovation.
In 2024, Flip acquired UK-based The Bot Platform, formerly a key Meta partner and serving customers such as Coca-Cola and GSK, bringing low-code, AI-powered tools into the platform to help HR and comms teams automate onboarding, engagement, learning, and recognition.
