Entocycle partners with EnviroFlight on Black Soldier Fly Breeding Tech
Entocycle, the insect technology firm in the UK, has forged a partnership with EnviroFlight, North America's producer of insect-derived nutrients for animals and plants.
This collaboration aims to advance and test Entocycle's black soldier fly (BSF) breeding technology, the Entosight Neo, specifically designed for neonate counting and dosing.
In October 2023, the two companies formalised their intention to collaborate by signing a Letter of Intent (LOI) to implement the Entosight Neo at EnviroFlight’s Innovation Center located in Apex, North Carolina. The deployment and subsequent trial of the technology commenced in November 2023.
“Through this collaboration with Entocycle, EnviroFlight aims to leverage the latest technology for black soldier fly neonate counting and dosing to optimise our production efficiencies,” said Liz Koutsos, President of EnviroFlight. “We’re excited to see the final trial results and explore potential opportunities to collaborate with Entocycle to help further advance the industry in the future.”
“We’re delighted to be working with EnviroFlight to help improve existing breeding and production systems, and the partnership marks a key milestone in our journey to serve the insect industry with our technology and expertise,” said Will Bisset, Chief Commercial Officer of Entocycle. “We see strong collaboration between companies in the sector as key to the continued growth and success of the BSF industry and the environmental and economic benefits we’re determined to deliver.”
