Chipolo Celebrates 10 Years of Giving People Peace of Mind
Chipolo, the award-winning item finder company, is celebrating their 10-year anniversary at CES. For over a decade, Chipolo has been providing people all over the world with peace of mind, knowing that they’ll never lose their keys, wallets, luggage, and other important belongings ever again.
From London to New York, from Tokyo to Paris, the Slovenian, self-funded Bluetooth item tracker brand has given items in cities all over the world the power to be reunited with their owners. They’ve also created a strong community through Chipolo’s global Lost & Found Network, which bridges together users to help one another recover lost items. Through this growing network, more than 50,000 lost items are found on a daily basis, as Chipolo has helped the companion app’s users track their things more than 13 million times, as well as find their phones 8 million times in the last 10 years.
Chipolo's founders are 7 high school friends — and one of them was always late because he could never find his things, which bothered the rest of the group. With a combination of different areas of team members’ expertise in design, hardware and software engineering, app and web development, business, sales, and marketing, and only one thing in common, Bluetooth, they knew they had to come up with a solution to this problem. That’s when Chipolo was created.
From launching on Kickstarter in 2013 and hiring their first employee a year later, to now a team of more than 50 employees, from winning awards like the CES Innovation Award (HONOREE) or the DNA Paris Design Award for Graphic Design/Colorful project, to creating one of the first third-party products compatible with the Apple Find My network, the company has come a long way — and they’re just getting started.
Chipolo has always focused on achieving one dream: to make the best possible finding experience for their users. “We are constantly doing two things: listening to what our users have to say and exploring the edge of technology to find new solutions that would fit what our users truly want — not just what is trendy in terms of technology. It has to make sense, it needs to solve a real issue, and it needs to solve it in a cost-efficient way”, said Primož Zelenšek, CEO and co-founder of Chipolo.
This dream drives them forward to always keep improving their products. “We see potential to improve Chipolo in many ways, such as making it an autonomous product in terms of charging, increasing the volume to make a louder sound, a wider range of location accuracy, durability, and using more recycled materials to create environmentally friendly products. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what will give our users the best experience possible — and that’s all that matters to us. We are also planning to further expand into other specific segments, like travel and bikes, and we are already in talks about this with important industry players”, added Zelenšek.
The company's current product range of easily attachable and affordable Bluetooth item finders includes the Chipolo ONE and Chipolo CARD, compatible both with Android and iOS, as well as the Chipolo ONE Spot and the Chipolo CARD Spot, which work exclusively with the Apple Find My network. As for the future, Chipolo will continue to innovate and to create new products that provide the best possible finding experience and a complete range of features for everyone - no matter if they are Android or iPhone users.
Chipolo will be showcasing all existing products at the Venetian Expo, Level 2, Halls A-D, Booth number: 54243. A part of the Chipolo team, including a few of the founders, will also be there to share insights, memories and fun stories from the company’s 10 years history.
