AllBright enters administration, claims suggest

Rumours circulating suggest that AllBright, the women-only members’ club, has entered administration.

In the last week, AllBright has had to permanently close the doors of its famous five-story Mayfair townhouse, leading many to believe this is the start of AllBright’s journey into administration.

AllBright, co-founded by Debbie Wosskow OBE and Anna Jones in 2018, was founded to provide support and to connect professional women through networking, educational programmes, and its members club. The members’ club opened its doors in 2018, offering a host of amenities such as a restaurant, bar, and a hair salon.

AllBright experienced a shining few years, but financial turbulence that came about from the COVID-19 pandemic and evolving work habits provided rocky ground for its foundations. By the end of March 2022, it is said that the company experienced a pre-tax loss of £6.2 million. Leadership of the business also shifted, with original co-founders Wosskow and Jones stepping down, and Viviane Paxinos taking on the role of CEO.

Its most recent administration follows a restructuring effort just two years ago when Cain International, co-founded by Jonathan Goldstein, a Director and Co-Owner of Chelsea Football Club, cleared AllBright’s debts and injected fresh investment through a pre-pack administration.

The news of AllBright’s administration comes as a shock, as in a report published in September 2024, private members’ clubs were seen as one of the fastest-growing real estate sectors by Knight Frank.

The Guardian reported seeing an email that was sent to members of the club, stating: “Sadly, with rising rents and the scale of the building, combined with its premium location, the Mayfair townhouse is no longer viable. While events, networking opportunities, and learning programmes remain in high demand, the social and dining spaces were underutilised.”

It is also reported that members will have access to a “dedicated lounge” at the Old Session House in Farringdon.

Wosskow shared her thoughts on LinkedIn: “I was sorry to learn over the last few days that AllBright, the women’s network that Anna Jones and I co-founded in 2017 and exited in 2022, has entered administration, with the Mayfair Club being shut down.

“We had amazing times running that business – highs, lows and everything in between. 2017 was a very different time – feminism was in a different place - post Me Too and the first era of Trump … We hope that the amazing AllBright members continue to find inspirational spaces in which to come together in the future.”

We will continue to monitor the situation and bring you the latest.
