360Learning wins €1.8M French Government grant to power AI skills-based learning
360Learning has announced it has been awarded a €1.8 million grant from the French Government to accelerate R&D in AI-powered skills-based learning.
The funding, part of France’s 2030 investment strategy to drive industrial transformation through innovation, will enable 360Learning to expand its Paris-based team of software and machine learning engineers, as it builds the future of workplace learning.
Addressing Europe’s skills crisis through intelligent learning
Europe is in the midst of a skills crisis. Nearly two-thirds of EU small and medium businesses struggle to find employees with necessary capabilities, something the European Commission warns is becoming entrenched in the EU economy. France alone specifically lacks talent in healthcare, software development, cybersecurity, and finance – sectors critical to economic growth.
Skills-based learning is emerging as L&D’s strategic lever to close this gap – empowering individuals to take ownership of their growth while giving organisations the agility to keep pace with change. But traditional approaches fall short, with irrelevant course recommendations and one-size-fits-all training failing to deliver real impact.
360Learning’s AI-powered platform makes skills-based learning actionable at scale. AI-powered workflows enable L&D teams to automate tasks, empower subject-matter expert (SME) knowledge sharing, and deliver personalised learning at the right time on the right device. L&D teams are then free to focus on closing critical skills gaps in their organisation through targeted upskilling and reskilling campaigns. This grant will support 360Learning in its mission to power skills-based learning that fuels business performance.
Driving measurable business impact
360Learning enables granular skill development from project management capabilities for sales associates to specialised technical competencies across departments. Employees gain clear visibility into their skill progression, driving engagement and career advancement, while L&D teams identify internal subject matter experts to develop proprietary content through collaborative learning.
With over 2,500 customers, including Michelin, Safran, Arkema, Malakoff Humanis, Symbio, AVOCarbon, and Wakam, are already scaling skills-based learning across their organisations through 360Learning. The new grant funding will continue to drive this forward across France and its international customer base.
Benjamin Marchal, CEO of 360Learning, said: “Skills gaps are widening at an unprecedented rate. Organisations without robust upskilling and reskilling strategies will fall behind in the global innovation race. This French Government support recognises AI's transformative potential in learning – and we're just beginning to unlock what's possible."
