US-based startup Tellia has raised $5m in a pre-seed funding round led by venture capital firm Revant.
The agri-tech startup has developed an AI voice layer that allows farmers to record various information in their natural language through phone calls, voice notes, text, WhatsApp or email. The AI turns these records into clean, structured records connected to the right field or operations, whilst enabling users to ask questions and receive instant answers.
Tellia does not force teams to use a fixed template. It instead shapes its structure around how each farm runs, allowing farmers to use an easier-to-use agricultural agent rather than relying on traditional software.
The startup’s software helps tackle issues around hardware and software management, with most agricultural data logging, such as disease sightings, being restricted to screens and manual data entry that are not designed for field work.
Since its launch in 2024, the company has built strong commercial traction with 80% daily active usage among field teams two months after onboarding. The company has helped support the operations of agricultural giants such as Campos Brothers Farms.
The financing, alongside its validation and R&D work, will allow Tellia to further expand its traction into Europe, having already seen its technology deployed in institutions like the Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin (IFV), cooperatives such as Val de Gascogne, and German plant breeder KWS Saat.
Coline Labadie de Faÿ, CEO and co-founder of Tellia, said: “The ag industry keeps facing the same challenge: the people who spend their days in the field spend their evenings at a keyboard.”
“That was never a data problem. It was an interface problem. Traditional software cannot accept it the way it actually comes out — spoken, in the field, in whatever language the team works in. So we did not build another platform that wants to own all the data,” she said.
She continued: “Instead, we built the interface. You talk, Tellia captures it, structures it, and interprets it into something the whole operation can act on. This funding round lets us push the voice AI further, build the agentic layer that sits between the field and the rest of the agtech stack, and grow our team in the US and Europe.”
The funding will allow the startup to roll out its agentic AI suite. Other investors in the round included Grey Silo Ventures (CVC of Cereal Docks Group), Jeriko (operated by Techmind), and Fund F.
Revent’s general partner, Otto Birnbaum, commented: “We believe that the voice-first approach will lead the agricultural sector into the new agentic data age and that Tellia will be the category-defining company here. Tellia is creating the critical data layer to meaningfully improve efficiencies and productivity in the agricultural sector.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Coline and Vincent and are deeply impressed by their operational pace and how fast the product gets adopted on both sides of the Atlantic,” he said.
For Tellia’s founders, this investor base — which mirrors the diversity of their 13-strong team — is a signal of both credibility and global ambition. The founders met through Entrepreneur First, the UK-based talent investor, where the startup was later launched.
Tellia now operates in both Paris and San Francisco, combining US commercial traction with European standards around data protection, security and confidentiality. The founders strive for Tellia to become the leading voice interface between agriculture and the technology that supports it.
