2024 Go Green with Taiwan campaign calling for proposals
To promote a sustainable and prosperous future through global collaboration, Taiwan has unveiled the Go Green with Taiwan campaign. This initiative encourages participants to submit projects that demonstrate environmental or economic sustainability using products or solutions from Taiwanese companies.
The campaign aims to boost Taiwan's green industries and foster international cooperation for sustainable development.
The top three submissions will each receive a $20,000 cash prize. Organised by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the scheme has garnered support from key Taiwanese business leaders, including Stan Shih, Founder and Honorary Chairman of Acer Group, who will serve as ambassadors for the programme. Additionally, sustainable energy firms, industry associations, and foreign diplomats based in Taiwan are backing the initiative.
Taiwan’s green industry is distinguished by its advanced technology, infrastructure, robust R&D environment, and highly skilled talent. The nation produces stable, high-value-added green materials and products, positioning Taiwanese organisations as vital partners in global green energy and sustainable economic development.
The Go Green with Taiwan campaign was launched at a recent press conference taking place at the AMBI Space One, an immersive exhibition facility in Taipei 101, renowned as the world’s tallest green building and an iconic landmark of Taiwan.
The event was characterised by innovative environmental initiatives, including a paperless electronic check-in wall, the use of eco-friendly tableware, and the serving of fair trade beverages. The event demonstrated Taiwan’s advancements in circular economy solutions, low-carbon transportation, green energy and storage, and environmental equipment such as state-of-the-art naked-eye 3D panoramic animations.
Proposal submissions are open from now until 31st August 2024. The scheme is open to applicants worldwide, including representatives of companies, research institutions, universities, non-governmental organisations, public associations and more.
