Guy Arieli
BIO
Guy’s passion and interest in computing began at the age of 10 when he started playing with an old computer in his family home and taught himself about programming. Keen to progress a career somewhere in software, he studied Computer Science at Israel Institute of Technology. After, he went on to work in a local IT centre, where he found himself drawn to the area of test automation. In 1997 he secured a position as QA Manager for 3Com, before moving to Cisco in January 2000. In January 2003 he got a job as Automation leader at Atrica. Whilst he loved working for those companies, he always harboured a passion to set up his own business. It wasn’t until 2005 that he took the plunge and co-founded AQUA software. Later selling it to Matrix, he was introduced to Tal through his wife and, realising the pair had the same ambitions they met for a coffee. Sharing the same interest in test automation and passion for software, the pair set about establishing a joint venture, Experitest in July 2009. In those days it was extremely difficult to raise money as no one wanted to invest and so both Tal and Guy continued working as consultants full time as their business concept developed. Guy worked on it day and night, writing the code and designing the product alongside Tal. Making connections and getting their first clients was a major step, in 2011 Experitest signed a major deal with Barclays, later selling it to TPG in 2020. Today, Experitest is part of Digital.ai.
Ever the upskiller, Guy decided to continue learning along the way and invested his time in machine learning courses. Following this, Tal and Guy decided to establish BlinqIO, the goal being to simplify and accelerate the way organisations are doing end-to-end testing. Guy is of the firm opinion that by using AI to perform testing on smaller tasks that companies can scale testing at lower costs.
The concept for BlinqIO and its extensive language capabilities came when Guy was exposed to Large Language Models. Astonished by LLM’s abilities, he looked at incorporating it into Blinq’s software. When Guy started showcasing BlinqIO to his contacts, they were surprised to find there were no human beings behind the engine. Today BlinqIO has its eyes firmly focused on the future, Guy and Tal are both looking to build a unicorn that will disrupt the test automation market.
