WeWork launches Growth Campus Europe to boost startup ecosystem

WeWork has launched Growth Campus Europe, an initiative targeted to boost economic recovery across nine European countries; Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Norway and Czech Republic.

With the pandemic presenting huge challenges for growth-companies and stifling momentum, Growth Campus will provide €17m of subsidised workspace, giving teams the ability to collaborate in-person and providing flexibility for employees as they embrace hybrid working.

The initiative is open to the entire startup ecosystem - including accelerators and incubators, as well as social impact and non-profit organisations - and will provide exclusive access to educational programming and tailored coaching opportunities. WeWork will subsidise fees up to 50% for eligible members across designated WeWork locations in Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Stockholm, Oslo and Prague.

Growth Campus Europe members will have access to WeWork Labs and will be integrated into WeWork’s global network of members, providing them with growth support, access to industry experts and mentorship opportunities, customised training, and exclusive benefits and discounts to help them grow.

Samit Chopra, International COO, WeWork said: “As one of the largest providers of flexible workspace in major European cities, we are happy to do our part in supporting companies with ideas that will shape the future of so many different industries. WeWork was built on the very principle of working together and helping small businesses grow, and our expertise will give these businesses access to the network, skills, and tools to help them thrive.

"With the innovation ecosystem being a key contributor to economies across Europe, Growth Campus will boost the sector and help play a role in post-Covid economic recovery.”

The launch of Growth Campus Europe is WeWork’s third Growth Campus following the UK initiative, which attracted over 800 signups in the first six months including Antler UK and Crowdcube, and the Asia-Pacific initiative, which launched in August 2021.

WeWork also supports the European startup ecosystem through its Music Tech Accelerator programme in Amsterdam, providing eight new businesses with growth expertise and private workspace, and is partnering with TEDxAmsterdam on its brand-new Impact Program.
