Transreport receives King’s Award for Enterprise
Transreport has been honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise, in the category of Innovation. Transreport is one of 197 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.
Transreport is the fastest-growing leading global accessibility technology company with the mission of democratising public transport. Its Passenger Assistance platform is used by rail and aviation providers across the UK to simplify and streamline assistance requests for Disabled people, older people, and people with access needs.
Commenting on the award and recognition, Transreport’s Founder & CEO, Jay Shen, said: “We are exceptionally proud to have received the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category. This is an incredible recognition of Transreport’s commitment to creating a more connected world by designing inclusive technology solutions that make travel and experiences accessible for everyone.
“The idea behind Transreport was sparked by a conversation I had with a Disabled gentleman, who shared his experience of encountering barriers when travelling. That moment underscored the urgent need for change and deepened my commitment to developing technology that builds confidence and reduces anxiety when travelling. Since then, our solutions have supported over seven million journeys in the UK alone, and we are rapidly expanding our technology internationally.
“Receiving this award is a tremendous honour and a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and vision of our entire team, as well as fantastic partners like Rail Delivery Group, who have shared our ambition and been a vital part of the journey. We remain committed to driving meaningful, inclusive innovation in the transport sector.”
Since the business was established in 2016, 1.1 million users have registered to the platform globally. Delivery partners, Rail Delivery Group, have played a key part in this growth since 2021, rolling out Passenger Assistance to train operating companies across its GB networks. Their shared commitment to drive change has played a major role in the growth of Transreport, its platform, and impact on passengers.
Jacqueline Starr, Executive Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Rail Delivery Group, said: “At Rail Delivery Group, we are committed to make sure every passenger who needs extra support can travel with confidence. Innovative solutions such as Passenger Assistance technology make rail travel more accessible and inclusive for everyone and it’s great to see it recognised by the King’s Award for Enterprise.
“With record numbers of Passenger Assist requests being made, it is more important than ever that we continue to enhance accessibility across the rail network to provide a consistent and inclusive experience for all.”
The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK. The awards were first established in 1965 and since then over 8,000 companies have achieved a King’s Award. 2025 marks the third year of The King’s Awards for Enterprise, reflecting His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses.
The awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes, or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.
