Slush 2024 brings together 5,500 startups and 3,300 investors in Helsinki in November to help and create the next generation of founders. For the third consecutive year, Slush stands as the largest gathering of venture capital in the world, with over $3 trillion in assets under management under one roof.

The event takes place during a challenging time for European startups, marked by restricted funding and economic uncertainty, which significantly redefine the way companies are built. However, recent data indicates a slight rise in VC investment, suggesting a positive direction, with emerging industries such as clean tech, generative AI, and deep tech experiencing a positive trend in investments in Q1 of 2024.

"Despite economic uncertainties, the European startup ecosystem shows remarkable resilience. At Slush, we believe we're just beginning the journey towards recovery,” says Aino Bergius, CEO of Slush.

In the European venture capital ecosystem, limited partners are often left out of the equation. However, their role and contribution are critical for startups and the future of tech. In response to the economic situation, Slush 2024 will host its largest-ever Limited Partner track, featuring over 300 LPs representing some of the largest university endowments, funds of funds, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices from around the world.

This year, Slush embraces the theme of ‘Metamorphosis’, inviting attendees to embark on a journey of radical transformation. Real change demands creativity, commitment, and, above all, the will to take action. Each one of us has the potential to reshape the future as we know it. Slush 2024 stands as the culmination of this narrative.

“To build the next groundbreaking venture, startups need not only funding but also practical advice on company-building and connections. This is at the very core of what Slush does," Bergius says.

Slush 2024 will host the highest concentration of startups and investors ever seen. Bergius says: “The whole event experience and concepts are highly curated and focused on helping founders to pursue rapid growth with purpose. We believe that by helping founders, everything else will follow.

“Beyond being an event organisation, today Slush is also a tech company. Our 9-person product team manages and develops over 10 products, including our matchmaking technology to enable 20,000+ meetings during Slush. That's more than 800 meetings per hour.”

For a week in November, Helsinki becomes the hotspot of the startup world. Alongside the two-day Slush main event, Slush Week includes over 300 side events throughout the city, culminating in the official Slush Afterparty on November 21.

Slush, led by students and recent graduates, is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to help and create founders to change the world. Slush brings together the startup ecosystem at the Expo and Convention Centre Helsinki (Messukeskus) on November 20-21. Public ticket sales start on May 2, 2024.
