SHIFT 2022 DISCUSSES LEADERSHIP IN DIGITALISED WORLD

SHIFT Business Festival 2022 will be held in Turku, Finland on August 24-25th. One of the main themes of this year's event is leadership in a digitalised world. At SHIFT, you can gain answers to the following questions: what opportunities the constant change brings, and what kind of solutions to the new challenges can be found together.

Participating in the change

The rapid changes the whole world has gone through in the few past years have brought the importance of management to the fore. As we search for new ways to lead in a changing landscape, we are constantly reshaping leadership. "This theme touches everyone - leadership is not only on the agenda of top officials, but part of the activities of each one of us," describes the Head of Program of SHIFT Business Festival, Elsa Ervasti.

SHIFT offers a great platform to think about the role of leadership in tomorrow's organisations together among different companies and industries. "The diversity of the people and organisations participating in the event makes the discussion particularly fruitful," Ervasti rejoices.

Key notes about the future

Magnus Lindkvist, futurologist, and author is known for his sharp trend predictions and combining hard data with imaginative storytelling. Lindkvist paints the landscapes of the future and tunes the audience into SHIFT atmosphere at the very beginning of the first festival day.

The second day is started by futurologist, human behavior expert Ida Hult, who will talk about how to open the jams in our minds, actions, and ultimately business to accelerate development. Hult explains how to harness ethnographic knowledge as a driving force for sustainable business now and in the future.

Panel discussions on leadership in the midst of change

SHIFT 2022 will also discuss how to help organisations survive disruption and, most importantly, how to creatively connect people and technology to drive future growth. Among other things, these themes are discussed in two different panel discussions.

In the first panel, the speakers and the audience tune in together to develop leadership interactively with the help of the Topaasia game deck created for SHIFT. The theme is innovation skills for a better future, both on an individual level and globally, viewed from surprising perspectives. The founder of Funzi, Aape Pohjavirta, and the CEO of SHIFT, Jutta Ruusunen, throw themselves into a unique panel created at the moment together with the audience. Jussi Galla, CEO of Topaasia, acts as the game moderator.

The second panel will feature Veritas Pension Insurance CEO Carl Haglund, Turku City Business Director Niko Kyynäräinen, and Vincit DevOps & Platforms Business Director Henna Niirainen. They discuss new management methods in a changing world and, among other things, the value of people in long-term growth.
