James Markey, Founder of UNI SIM commented: “Starting a business with the support of Santander X has changed my life beyond all recognition. From getting valuable feedback on the initial idea, to finding our first client in Spain, right through to being one of the winners of the Santander X Global Awards final in Valencia. We’ve gone from a student business from The Open University with an idea and a pencil drawing of what could be to, today, a fully-fledged business with offices in Portsmouth and a product that is starting to have an impact on global education and that has already been exported to countries like Spain, Chile, Peru and Morocco. We can’t wait to see what the future will bring, it feels like it’s still only the beginning!”

Megan Hale, Co-founder and CEO of Team Repair: “The experience of being in Valencia for the Santander X Global Awards final was incredible.  Hearing about how people around the world are revolutionising education and meeting the other start-up founders was inspiring, and made me realise how lucky we are to have so much support from the likes of Santander X to scale our business. Winning the competition will allow us to start making an impact in schools so we can continue on our mission of inspiring more children from all backgrounds with science using the applicable and hands-on skill of repair.”
