The Revolut eSIM offers customers the ability to roam internationally without facing unexpected roaming charges or service interruptions.

This service will be available to UK customers with eSIM-compatible devices later this week. Upon installation, it enables users to replenish their data on the go without the necessity of a physical SIM card. The integration of the eSIM with the Revolut app allows customers to access the app and its full range of products and features without consuming their mobile data allowance. This means that even if a customer arrives in a country without data access, they can still use the Revolut app, including the option to top up their data as needed.

Customers who opt for the eSIM through the Revolut app, particularly those on the Ultra plan, will receive an added benefit of 3GB of global mobile data, with a monthly renewal. Additionally, UK customers who set up their eSIM by 1st May 2024 will benefit from an introductory offer, receiving 100MB of global data at no additional charge, subject to terms and conditions.

The introduction of this service comes at a time when the cost of using mobile data abroad has seen a significant increase. Many UK mobile networks have ceased to offer "roam like at home" options within the EU, and data charges for other regions frequently exceed standard plan allowances.

The introduction of eSIM by Revolut marks a significant enhancement in support for travellers, offering comprehensive assistance from the start to the finish of their journeys. This support ranges from booking accommodation via Stays to providing access to over 1,000 airport lounges. Additionally, customers with Premium, Metal, and Ultra plans can travel with confidence, knowing they have emergency medical and dental cover (Insurance and Paid Plan terms, along with subscription fees, apply). Furthermore, customers can enjoy Experiences, including tours and attractions, and benefit from spending like a local with competitive currency exchange rates available in more than 30 currencies.
