With Life Cultivator: UK’s first eco-incubator launches

On 1st August, With Life Cultivator was launched as the world's first incubator dedicated to supporting startups and established organisations through periods of substantial growth and transformation.

Drawing inspiration from nature and living systems, this pioneering initiative seeks to reshape the startup landscape by emphasising sustainable growth rather than the rapid acceleration that often leads to burnout and high failure rates. Applications are open until 23rd August 2024.

With Life Cultivator is a collaborative effort by nRhythm, Zebra Growth, and the Capital Institute – three organisations at the forefront of regenerative organisational development, finance, and growth. This six-month online programme is designed for businesses committed to change and the creation of a regenerative future, addressing the complex environmental, social, cultural, and existential challenges of our time.

Traditional accelerators and incubators often treat organisations as machines, focusing on short-term fixes and metrics. This approach contributes to the staggering 90% failure rate among startups. In contrast, With Life Cultivator adopts a holistic perspective, using living systems as models for organisational development. Ecosystems, with their inherent resilience, adaptability, and emergent outcomes, serve as the foundation for this programme.

Participants will gain access to proven operational frameworks and tools, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, and personalised mentorship from over 10 seasoned experts. Esteemed leaders such as John Fullerton, President and Founder of the Capital Institute and author of "Regenerative Capitalism: How Universal Patterns and Principles Will Shape the New Economy," will guide the cohort. Other notable mentors include Jeff Su and Tre’ Cates, co-founders of nRhythm, and Moh Al-Haifi and Lee Fitzpatrick, co-founders of Zebra Growth.

The programme aims to nurture the next generation of organisations dedicated to a regenerative economy, providing solutions to the multifaceted crises of today.

"In light of the polycrisis, what the world desperately needs now is an economy in service to life. We must cultivate regenerative organisations that support our socio-economic system and reimagine the financing and models for how enterprises grow,” said Fullerton.

“By addressing the root problems of extractive growth and mechanistic design, the Cultivator ensures organisations are not just surviving but thriving in the long term. We are inviting organisations worldwide to join us and learn how to cultivate growth and create the conditions for long-term organisational health and resilience,” adds Cates.

Only 1 in 4 employees feel their organisation cares for their wellbeing, and 92% of UK employees experience burnout or stress during their career.

The With Life Cultivator is now accepting applications globally until August 23, 2024, with a start date of September 9th, 2024. Become part of the thriving community, which already has over 20,000 members. Costing £15,600* ($20,000 USD) for up to five colleagues to attend.

“If you're looking to grow, this program will demonstrate how cultivating is more powerful than accelerating. How living system designs are leading the startup transformation and shaping an emerging future. Also, how this new approach to growing startups has the potential to replace traditional capitalistic unicorn models,” says Al-Haifi.
