IOT Solutions World Congress is back for 2024
The IOT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC), the international event on industry transformation through disruptive technologies, returns in 2024 to help companies worldwide seize the full potential of cutting-edge technologies capable of redefining industries.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona, the three-day summit will take place from May 21 to May 23 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue and is expecting 12,000 visitors from more than 100 countries, over 400 exhibitors and a lineup of 250 speakers and experts taking part in 125 congress sessions.
On its eighth edition and under the theme “Disruptive Technologies for Industry Challenges”, IOTSWC will showcase a broad array of game-changing innovations including IoT (Internet of Things), Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Edge Computing, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, 5G connectivity, Renewable Energy, Cloud Computing, Big Data Analytics, and Robotic Process Automation.
The Director of IOTSWC, Marc Tarragó, said: “We are on the verge of a new industrial revolution fueled by technologies capable of transforming companies completely. IOT Solutions World Congress 2024 will show how the experience and knowledge of leading international experts and companies can enable companies to chart a roadmap to navigate the opportunities and risks ahead. We will provide attendees with an unparalleled mix of real experiences, knowledge, products, solutions, and disruption.”
IOTSWC will comprise four distinct areas, each tailored to provide a comprehensive platform of innovation focusing on knowledge sharing, disruptive trends and actionable solutions – Congress, Exhibition Area, Activities, and Security and Cybersecurity. The Congress programme, curated by the International Society of Automation, will revolve around four main challenges that disruptive technologies need to address: Tech Enabled Transformation, Climate Change and Sustainability, Regulations and standards, and Security and cybersecurity.
Among the 250 international experts taking part in the conference sessions are Jeff Winter, Senior Director of Industry Strategy in Manufacturing at Hitachi Solutions; Soloman Almadi, Senior Engineering Consultant at Saudi Aramco; Ahmik Hindman, Senior Network & Security Solution Consultant at Rockwell Automation; and Mark Kraeling, Solutions Architect at GE Transportation.
Disruption experienced hands-on
With the aim of providing attendees direct contact to the latest technology solutions, the exhibition area will showcase products and demonstrations from over 400 leading companies. Among the names already confirmed are ABB, AWS, Digicet, Emnify, Faircom, KNX, iot squared, ST Microelectronics, and Txone.
In addition, the Activities area will include a Testbed Zone to display real-world applications of cutting-edge technologies, a Startup Pavilion to bring together the next-generation startups that are poised to revolutionise industries, the Women and Diversity in Industry Area to promote inclusivity and diversity in the tech world, and the Garden, a relaxed networking environment to foster new projects.
Security first
To underline the paramount importance of security for the wide industrial ecosystem, IOTSWC will host the fourth edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, an annual event co-organised with the Catalan Government. The event brings together the main cybersecurity agents and experts and aims to analyse the current challenges in this field, defining patterns to protect against cyberattacks at a sectoral level, and presenting real solutions, tools, and success stories to extend the culture of cybersecurity across all industries.
