Half of UK professionals are planning to go to the office less due to record petrol prices
With petrol prices rising again today and hitting record prices at the pumps, CV-Library gives an insight into its true impact.
Less than a month after the Government lifted restrictions in the UK and workers were told to go back to work, a staggering 42% of professionals surveyed reported that they were planning to work from home more once again, and the reason was purely due to the cost of petrol.
According to Lee Biggins, Founder and CEO of independent job board, CV-Library, the results, which are made up of almost 3,000 responses, “highlight the deep and significant impact on both the UK professionals and the wider UK economy.”
Biggins continued: “The pandemic created a fundamental shift in UK working practices and remote working has become a permanent and effective solution for many businesses. With petrol prices at a record high, it is understandable that UK professionals are choosing to work from home, where possible. Businesses are also feeling the pressure of rising costs and employers need to strike the right balance in accommodating staff in these challenging times."
