At CES Unveiled Europe, E-magy and Rebel Cactus announced the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop a customised lithium-ion battery cell for Rebel Cactus’s next-generation children’s smartwatch.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by distinguished officials, including the President of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) – the owner and producer of CES – as well as the Director of Entrepreneurship at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, underscoring the significance of this partnership on a global stage.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in wearable technology innovation, combining E-magy’s advanced nanoporous silicon anode material with Rebel Cactus’ expertise in designing smartwatches tailored for young users.
The new battery cell will power advanced smartwatch features, such as always-on connectivity and location tracking, while maintaining a compact size and providing long battery life.
The MoU establishes a long-term partnership focused on:
- Co-developing silicon-dominant anode battery cells tailored for wearable applications
- Integrating and testing these cells within Rebel Cactus’ smartwatch platform
- Validating E-magy’s battery prototypes in real-world use cases
By adopting E-magy’s silicon anode technology, Rebel Cactus secures a future-ready energy solution that boosts performance and sets the brand apart in a competitive market.
“We’re excited to partner with Rebel Cactus to demonstrate the potential of E-magy technology and bring our high-performance silicon anode technology into the wearable space. This MoU with Rebel Cactus for smartwatch cell development represents a significant milestone for E-magy. Rebel Cactus’ technology, along with its specialised knowledge, expertise, and experience in developing children’s smartwatches and software platform, sets new standards in the industry,” stated E-magy CEO Casper Peeters.
“At Rebel Cactus, our mission is to empower kids worldwide with smart, safe, and fun technology, so they play to learn anytime, anywhere. We stand for a generation of 100 million happy, healthy, and resilient children & teens. Partnering with E-magy allows us to push the boundaries of what’s possible in terms of battery life and performance, making our next-gen smartwatch even more reliable and exciting,” stated Rebel Cactus CEO, Michael Greve.
The MoU was signed during CES Unveiled Europe in Amsterdam, an exclusive event spotlighting Europe’s thriving innovation ecosystem and paving the way to CES 2026.
