COUNTDOWN TO THIS WEEK'S STARTUP OLÉ LATAM ROADSHOW WITH SPECTACULAR FORECASTS OF PARTICIPANTS

The fifth edition of the largest European event of entrepreneurship and technological innovation in Latin America mobilises corporations, investors, accelerators, startups, and media during its activities in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. Self-employed, micro-enterprises and startups from Castilla y León will also participate.

Startup Ole Latam Roadshow is the international fair in Latin America of the CYL-HUB project for entrepreneurship and innovation. This project has a budget of more than 1.3 million euros, financed by the Next Generation funds of the European Union and channelled by the Junta de Castilla y León through the Regional Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Employment.

The fifth edition of STARTUP OLÉ 2023 LATAM ROADSHOW, which will take place throughout the month of March with first-class events in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, has aroused great expectations. With only a few days to go, the numbers of participants so far are spectacular. The total list of attendees, including the five events, already exceeds 700 registered and everything points to this figure continuing to grow in the coming weeks. In addition, the fifth edition of the largest European entrepreneurship and technological innovation event for startups in Latin America has already guaranteed the participation of more than 80 top speakers. The number of startups participating in the events is also very significant and has already reached 200, and is expected to continue to increase in the coming weeks and as the calendar for each of the five events draws nearer. In addition, 32 investment funds have confirmed their presence in this fifth edition, as well as 6 corporations and 13 accelerators. Micro-enterprises and self-employed people from Castilla y León will also participate. Among the investors that will attend are entities such as Kamay Ventures (Argentina), AC Ventures (Mexico), Globant Ventures (Argentina), G2 Momentum (Mexico), Pampa Start VC (Argentina), Emasa Ventures (Chile) AlphaMundi Group (Colombia), Proeza Ventures (Mexico) and Blackshiip VC (Colombia). Also attending this fifth edition are governments from different countries, through the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Innpulsa Colombia, Corfo, InvestChile, as well as accelerators such as Incubatec UFRO (Chile), Incubator (Colombia) and Aceleradora Litoral (Argentina), among others.

This Latin American roadshow seeks to interconnect the entrepreneurial ecosystems of Latin America with Castilla y León, Spain and Europe, with the participation of corporations, investors, accelerators and media, connecting them with the best Latin American startups and scaleups. The events in each of these countries will include presentations of the innovations and benefits that Startup OLÉ brings to the ecosystem, as well as round tables, pitch competitions and business rounds with the best startups.

This activity is supported by the CYL-HUB project for entrepreneurship and innovation, directed by Emilio Corchado and has a budget of more than 1.3 million euros, financed by the Next Generation funds of the European Union and channelled by the Junta de Castilla y León through the Consejería de Industria, Comercio y Empleo. Historically, this roadshow is supported by the governments of the five participating countries, by the associations of investor funds and by start-up associations. It also counts with the collaboration of the prestigious firm ECIJA, which collaborates in the organisation of each of the pre-events in the five countries, which will consist of a VIP networking cocktail with speakers and the main representatives of the ecosystem, and will award prizes to the three best startups of each event. The first classified in each country will receive 18 hours of mentoring and the second and third classified will receive six hours each. For its part, the National Institute of Cybersecurity (Incibe) is collaborating in the networking activities, paying for the cocktails at each of the five events. In addition, the top three winning startups from each event will have a direct pass to the pitch competition at the next edition of Startup OLÉ, to be held in September in Salamanca. The following startups -from fourth to tenth place- will have a direct pass to Startup OLÉ in 2023 in Salamanca, with the possibility of participating in the matchmaking and pitching activities and the right to access the cocktails with two representatives, as well as access to the networking app.

This fifth edition kicks off this week in Argentina on 9 and 10 March at the Centro Metropolitano de Diseño in Buenos Aires. The second big event of this second edition will take place in Santiago de Chile on 13 and 14 March. The third event will be held on 16 and 17 March at the Cubo Itaú building in Sao Paulo (Brazil) and the next will be at the Universidad El Bosque in Bogotá (Colombia) on 21 and 22 March. Startup OLÉ will close its tour on 27 March in Mexico City. Each of these events will feature top speakers from different countries.
