David is an experienced executive and entrepreneur in the technology sector. A physicist and engineer by training, David has a PhD from Imperial College, is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Following a successful career in product design and technology management in photonics, David moved into an executive role and has led large, international, optical components operations for companies such as Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies and Marconi. Formerly, he was CEO of SPI Lasers, where he grew the business to become one of the largest suppliers of fibre-based industrial laser systems in the world and led its IPO and subsequent sale.

More recently David has returned to his passion of creating and managing early-stage technology companies. He has served as Chair of several companies in the optical communications, semiconductor and IoT space, David co-founded and led Lumenisity, the world leader in Hollow Core Fibre, from inception to its acquisition.
