Antler launches Web3 investment drive
Antler, the early-stage venture capital investor with 350 portfolio companies across 17 cities across the world, has put out a call to founders and teams interested in building in Web3 to join its global cohorts.
Antler has expanded its global reach, working with founders in over 17 cities worldwide. It plans to invest in promising Web3 startups from the pre-seed stage, offering access to a vast network of advisors, protocols, and experienced Web3 investors.
The firm’s Web3 team will collaborate with local funds to back both existing ventures and fresh talent entering the space. This effort will be spearheaded by Nitin Sharma, an Antler Partner with extensive experience in blockchain investing, alongside Markus Bruderer, who has led blockchain investments across South East Asia, and Cathy Guo, a former founder of a crypto infrastructure startup.
Currently, Antler’s portfolio already includes 14 blockchain startups on a global scale, featuring companies like Xanpool, Hodlnaut, Art Wall Street, and Alpha Impact. The firm’s established global network, resources, and connections offer substantial opportunities for Web3 founders, as well as those transitioning from Web2.
Key partners in this initiative include Solana and Polygon, two leading developer ecosystems, as well as Questbook, a growing Web3 developer community. Over 12 industry advisors, including founders of companies like Xanpool, IOTA, and Zilliqa Research, will also lend their expertise.
Founders in the Antler ecosystem stand to benefit from this initiative, gaining access to valuable learning resources, assistance with distribution and team-building, and expanded capital partnerships.
As Nitin Sharma, Partner and global blockchain lead at Antler said: “Web2 is broken. In Web3 and DeFi, there is a new Internet and a new financial system being built - with DAOs, crypto and NFTs as the building blocks. One where users and communities will be in far bigger control of value creation, identity and data sovereignty.”
“At Antler, we have been expanding our Web3 portfolio, and believe the world is now ready for thousands of new founders to jump in and create a decentralised Web3 that will take shape within the next 4-5 years.
"This is a revolution we can help catalyse as the only early-stage investor with such a vast global footprint. That’s why with this global call, we are launching a coordinated effort across 17 locations, to enable new founders to “level up to Web3” with us. In one go and from day one, founders we work with will have access to the entire breadth of our network, plus specialised protocol relationships and advisors, to reach users, developers and investors in five continents.”
