Anglia Live expands into Europe

Anglia Components has unveiled plans to expand its Anglia Live eCommerce platform across Europe, driven by substantial investments in its logistics and website development.

The company will provide a two-day delivery service from its UK distribution centre, with DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipments handled through FedEx's Paris hub. Additionally, Anglia will facilitate invoicing in multiple currencies. Over the last five years, Anglia has consistently outperformed the market, attributing its success to exceptional service and stock levels. The firm now seeks to extend its Anglia Live service model into Europe.

Karen Ward, Commercial Director, stated: "Anglia can compete on price, availability and delivery with any of our competitors, and we have identified there is a gap in the market for a Europe-wide digital distributor offering a competitive service from locally held inventory. Invited by major franchises to bring our service to Europe, it was an opportunity we simply could not say no to."

She further added: "We invest heavily in inventory supported by smart AI algorithms which have been developed by our team of in-house software engineers. Now customers throughout Europe can experience the benefits of our approach."

Anglia's partnership with FedEx ensures duty-paid delivery across Europe within two days, contributing to a lower environmental impact. Customers can place orders in Euros or US Dollars, with orders placed before specific cut-off times dispatched on the same day. The company has eliminated the minimum order value, offering free DDP delivery for orders above €50/$60, while smaller orders incur a €20/$30 service charge.

The platform boasts real-time visibility of available stock, a feature that sets Anglia apart from some competitors. Other functionalities include an advanced parametric search engine, industry-standard cross-reference, and timely notifications about product changes or discontinuations. Moreover, products are fully traceable back to the manufacturer's pack, applicable even for broken pack quantities.

Anglia currently supports more than 10,000 customers and in February 2023, it unveiled a £2 million expansion of its UK distribution centre which allowed the company to reach a further 150,000 customers. The major investment allowed Anglia to expand into an adjoining building at its distribution and operations centre, increasing the floor area from 43,000 sq. ft to 70,000 sq. ft. The new facility also expanded the overall inventory storage space by 40%. Anglia plans to hit £100 million turnover this year with a strategy to grow organically by 50% in the next five years, excluding of course any acquisitions.
