Alchemie Technology receives recognition for sustainability in the textile industry
Alchemie Technology, a cleantech company, has been featured in a prestigious new book commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Commonwealth and King Charles III’s role as its Head. The book, The Commonwealth at 75, includes a spotlight on Dr Alan Hudd, Ffounder and CEO of Alchemie, and the company’s mission to cut emissions and pollution in the textile industry.
The beautifully crafted hardback, published by St James’s House and co-produced with the History of Parliament Trust, showcases expert contributions from renowned royal authors Robert Jobson, Katie Nicholl, and Russell Myers, accompanied by imagery from veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards.
Dr Hudd’s article delves into Alchemie’s innovative Endeavour machine, which uses advanced digital technology to precisely dye fabrics, significantly reducing wastewater, carbon emissions, and energy use. He also highlights the successful unveiling of the technology at a production facility in Taiwan earlier this year, an event organised in collaboration with the British Chamber of Commerce and the British Embassy. Attended by senior government officials and top figures from global fashion and textile brands, the launch was a key milestone in promoting sustainability within the textile sector.
Following the event, Alchemie Technology secured a £750,000 grant to spearhead a UK-Taiwan initiative aimed at tackling pollution in textile finishing. The Endeavour system reduces dyeing’s carbon footprint by up to 85%, cuts wastewater by 95%, and lowers chemical usage by up to 30%, offering a groundbreaking solution to one of the industry’s biggest environmental challenges.
Dr Alan Hudd, CEO and Founder at Alchemie Technology said: “It’s an honour to see Alchemie’s work recognised in such a prestigious publication, marking 75 years of The Commonwealth.”
Tackling emissions and pollution in the global supply chain is a top priority for the textile and fashion industry yet 90% of textile companies are still using traditional, water- and chemical-intensive dyeing processes. Alchemie Technology is very proud to this bring game-changing product to market and recognise the benefits this can bring in building a cleaner, greener Commonwealth, fit for the future.
