100 of the UK’s most inspiring female entrepreneurs celebrated

Small Business Britain has unveiled its annual list of the most dynamic female entrepreneurs, featuring 100 women leading some of the most outstanding businesses in the UK.

This year's f:Entrepreneur '#IAlso100' campaign celebrates the significant impact made by female founders across the nation in various sectors, including AI, sustainability, art, law, and engineering. The initiative highlights their remarkable contributions to society, the economy, and local communities.

Recent findings from the Government-supported Rose Review revealed a significant uptick in female entrepreneurship in the UK, with over 150,000 new businesses established by women in 2022, more than double the number in 20181. Additionally, Small Business Britain's research last year indicated that over a third (39%) of female entrepreneurs embarked on their ventures seeking better work-life balance and flexibility, with a striking 86% reporting increased happiness as a result.

Michelle Ovens CBE, Founder of Small Business Britain, commented on this trend: “There has been a significant increase in the number of female entrepreneurs in the UK over the past few years – women who make essential contributions to our economy, and who inspire so many along the way.”

She further emphasised the resilience and future-shaping role of these women: “Despite the challenges they face every day, these women are extremely resilient and continue to represent the future of the UK economy. Through the f:Entrepreneur campaign, we want to shine a much-deserved light on the successes of female business owners in this country and the immeasurable impact they have on their communities.”

Launched in 2017, the f:Entrepreneur campaign aims to heighten awareness of the significant role played by female business owners throughout the UK. These entrepreneurs often helm purpose-driven businesses and actively contribute to their communities through various means such as volunteering, mentoring, and other forms of community support.

Run by Small Business Britain, the f:Entrepreneur campaign provides an array of events, training, and networking opportunities. These initiatives are designed to enhance skills, increase capability, and boost confidence among female entrepreneurs.
