Winno is launching Popcorn/Inc, a free, two-month online incubation program for aspiring founders looking to build startups in FilmTech or MediaTech. The initiative helps participants transform early ideas into validated business concepts and first prototypes through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and collaboration.
The program is delivered in partnership with DEEP Ecosystems, InnoMaker Partners, Yantra Studio, Varg.ai, 8bitPR Agency, and other ecosystem partners, bringing together expertise from the startup, media, and technology sectors to support the next generation of founders.
What is included?
- During the program, participants will:
- Learn how to launch Film- and MediaTech startups;
- Explore the industries and new emerging technologies;
- Form teams and collaborate with creatives and innovators across Eastern Europe;
- Generate and validate startup ideas;
- Test ideas with experts and partners;
- Launch their first Demo.
In the first two weeks, participants will learn how the media industry works and where innovation can happen.
In the third and fourth weeks, participants will start developing their startup concepts and form teams around the most promising ideas.
The following two weeks involve building prototypes and starting to test them. In the final two weeks, participants will set up their projects for public presentation during the Demo Day, held in a film festival-style format.
As Timofey Golovin, founder of Popcorn/Inc, says: “Most people think ‘FilmTech’ means AI video. It doesn’t. Streaming rules are being rewritten, production is moving to real-time engines, and distribution is shifting to creators who own their audience – AI is one piece of a much bigger rebuild. Immersive media alone is already a $185 billion market. Popcorn/Inc exists to gather the founders, developers, and everyone with passion to build whatever comes next in the Film and Media world.”
Who can participate?
The program is available to participants looking to build startups in FilmTech or MediaTech from any location. Previous startup experience or ideas are not required.
Program dates and application process
The program starts at the end of August and ends in October. Applications are open until 20th August. To apply, it is necessary to fill in the form on the website.
Participants will be selected based on their background and motivational letter.
