Build your AI career path with AWS

To address this growing skills gap, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced four new solutions designed to help learners build, practise, and validate their AI capabilities.

Free AI courses on AWS Skill Builder

AWS Skill Builder, the company’s online learning platform, offers more than 220 free AI courses covering everything from foundational AI concepts to advanced topics such as Generative AI and agentic AI. Learners can progress at their own pace and integrate study around existing work.

Practical learning and real-world application

AWS has developed interactive learning experiences that replicate workplace scenarios and provide instant feedback. These include the AWS Skill Builder Meeting Simulator, Cohorts Studio, microcredentials, and the AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional certification.

The Meeting Simulator helps users improve communication skills by engaging with AI-driven characters in realistic workplace situations, such as explaining AI solutions to executives or collaborating with IT teams.

Collaborative team learning

Cohorts Studio allows Skill Builder Team subscribers to learn together through shared study groups, bootcamps, and challenges. Teams can monitor progress via live leaderboards and use AI tools to tailor learning schedules and content.

New AWS AI certifications

From 18th November 2025, professionals can register for the beta of the AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional exam. The certification validates skills in foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, and responsible AI deployment. It complements AWS’s existing credentials for AI practitioners, machine learning engineers, and data engineers.

Hands-on microcredentials

AWS has also introduced microcredentials on Skill Builder to validate specific, job-ready abilities. The first two – AWS Serverless Demonstrated and AWS Agentic AI Demonstrated – require learners to troubleshoot and implement solutions in simulated AWS environments.
