Steven Bartlett-founded social media agency sells for £7.7m
The company was started by Bartlett when he was 30 and has since worked with big names like Amazon and Apple Beat to create advertising campaigns for social media and perform influencer marketing services.
The business has 122 staff and offices in Manchester, London, and New York.
Bartlett stepped down as CEO in 2020 and it’s not clear whether he still has a stake in the company.
Brave Bison, a social and digital media group, has struck a deal to buy the company for £7.7m but this could increase if Social Chain meet certain earning targets, reports the BBC.
Talking to the BBC, Oliver Green, Chairman, Brave Bison said that they’ve “long admired Social Chain” and that they believe it is “among the world’s best regarded social media and influencer marketing brands”.
The company feels that this acquisition could increase its revenues from social media advertising to £15m for the year.
