beLow offers a practical solution to the ever-increasing complexity of code in embedded software. In an age dominated by 'Big Code', applications and codes are expanding in size and complexity. Embedded systems are not exempt from this trend, adding layers of complexity to developers' tasks and increasing the risk of project delays. About 51% of developers report handling code volumes over 100 times larger than a decade ago, and 92% feel pressure to accelerate software releases. Gains include a 23% increase in execution speed for vehicle transmission system sensor signal filtering, a 95% boost in data processing and signal filtering, and a 72% enhancement in execution speed for a signal processing application, cutting energy consumption by half – extending battery life by several days for a battery-powered submarine robot.

Having made its mark in the embedded software industry, hosted software in servers and the Cloud is the next target. A test with an aerospace group on satellite image processing reduced energy consumption by 18%, translating to nearly half a ton of CO2-equivalent emissions saved.
