e-bike brand VanMoof expands sales and service network
VanMoof, the Amsterdam-based e-bike brand acquired by McLaren Applied in September 2023, has expanded its partner network by adding 50 repair and service locations across seven countries.
This enhanced network includes service and retail partners in the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, France, and other cities like Copenhagen, Vienna, and Dublin.
Under new management, VanMoof is not only advancing the development of its e-bikes but has also overhauled its sales and service strategy. Moving away from direct servicing, VanMoof has adopted a more sustainable maintenance model. This approach involves equipping local workshops with the necessary tools, knowledge, and spare parts, and delegating maintenance and sales tasks to these workshops. VanMoof has effectively reinvigorated its spare parts supply chain to support this ever-expanding partner network.
“We started five months ago with a small team and a simple mission: keep the wheels turning,” says VanMoof Co-CEO Eliott Wertheimer, “and I’m very proud of the progress we’ve made so far. From securing the technological infrastructure to rebuilding the supply chain and building a partner network, we have taken an important first step on this exciting journey. We are grateful for the trust that all our partners place in us. The fact that so many of the best independent shops are on board is a strong sign that we are on the right track.”
VanMoof, which will soon reveal the dates its products will be back on sale, is initially concentrating on establishing its partner network in core market cities in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France. Throughout the year, the company plans to extend its partner network to include cities in North America and other continents.
Customers can book service appointments directly with a VanMoof partner in their vicinity. VanMoof has introduced a partner locator on its website, which is regularly updated to help customers easily find a local partner. Most partners will provide maintenance, repair, and sales services for VanMoof products, while selected partners will specialise solely in maintenance and repair. All VanMoof partners undergo thorough training and are equipped with special technology and original parts to ensure the highest quality of service for VanMoof e-bikes.
